Our take

Top-notch protection for your eyes and device.

So I’ve been checking out the ZAGG InvisibleShield Glass Elite VisionGuard, and right off the bat, it’s got a pretty solid reputation for protecting phone screens. I mean, if you’re like me and prone to dropping your phone occasionally, this could be a lifesaver. The Glass Elite part means it’s supposed to be super strong, and from what I can tell, it lives up to that. A drop or two, and your screen should still be intact. But, keep in mind, it’s not invincible. If you’re super accident-prone, you might still want to be a bit careful.

The VisionGuard feature is where things get a little more interesting. It’s designed to filter out harmful blue light, which is supposedly better for your eyes. I’m no scientist, but if you’re staring at your screen all day, it seems like a decent thing to have. However, don’t expect it to completely solve eye strain or anything — it’s more like a little extra help rather than a miracle worker. So, if your eyes are still sore after a long day, you might want to look into other remedies too.

Now, about the installation — it’s kind of a mixed bag. On one hand, ZAGG gives you this neat installation tray that’s supposed to make things easier. And it does, to some extent. But, if you’re the kind who always ends up with a bubble or two under the protector, you might not find it as foolproof as advertised. Just be patient and take your time with it; it’s not rocket science, but it’s not totally idiot-proof either.

One thing I noticed is the touch sensitivity. Some screen protectors mess with how responsive your screen feels, but with this one, it seems like they’ve got it pretty dialed in. Your swipes and taps should feel as smooth as without a protector. That’s a big win in my book because nothing’s more annoying than a screen protector that makes using your phone a pain.

Price-wise, it’s on the steeper side, which might make you pause. But if you consider the protection and the added blue light filtering, it could be worth it. Just weigh how much you value those features against the cost. If you’re the type who usually cheap out on protectors, this might feel like a splurge. But if you’re in the market for something that’s a bit more than just a basic screen protector, it might just fit the bill.
