Our take
Plan and shop together with Bring!
Bring! Shopping List is one of those apps that seems like it should make life easier, but sometimes you wonder if it’s more trouble than it’s worth. On the surface, it’s super handy. You can create shopping lists with a few taps, and the interface is pretty straightforward. But then you start using it, and you might notice it’s not as intuitive as you'd hoped. There’s a bit of a learning curve, and if you're used to jotting stuff down on paper, it might feel like an unnecessary hassle at first.
One of the best things about Bring! is the collaboration feature. Imagine you’re at work, and your partner is at home, and you both realize you’re out of milk. Instead of texting back and forth, you can just update the shared list. That’s where Bring! really shines — it’s a lifesaver for coordinating with other people. But, if you’re flying solo, it’s not as game-changing. You could just be fine with a regular notes app.
I’ve noticed that Bring! tries to be a bit too clever sometimes. They have these icons for different categories, which are cute, but not always practical. Sometimes you just want to type "eggs" and move on, not scroll through a bunch of icons. It feels like they’re trying to make the app more fun, but it can slow you down if you're in a hurry. It’s one of those things where simplicity would be more effective, especially when you’re trying to remember everything you need for a big dinner.
The app also lets you add details like quantities and extras, which is neat. If you’re the kind of person who needs to remember you’re buying three tomatoes, not just "tomatoes," this could be a big help. However, if you’re just out to grab whatever’s cheapest or on sale, this feature might not be all that useful. There’s a balance here — it’s detailed, but you might not always need that much detail. It’s really about how you shop and what you find helpful.
Bring! has a few ads, which can be annoying, but they’re not overwhelming. You can get rid of them with a premium version, but honestly, they’re not so intrusive that you need to. If you’re someone who hates any ad interruptions, it might bug you, but for most folks, it’s manageable. Overall, Bring! is a solid tool if you’re into digital lists and need to sync up with others, but it’s not a must-have if you’re fine with good old-fashioned pen and paper.
